Svea Grain & Coal II, 12" x 16

My mixed media pieces are an alchemy of paints, papers, pastels, pencils, inks, stains and vintage ephemera to enhance the photographic images I have captured. I am drawn to old, abandoned buildings, of which there are no shortage of in Connecticut where old industrial factories and mills abound, this piece from New Britain, CT.  The ephemera in this piece includes french letters from the 1800s, Italian receipts from the early 1900s as well as vintage ledgers from the US.  A contemporary piece of fine art with a vintage twist.
