Sanseer Mill, 24" x 36"

Regular price

I'm so drawn to the history of old mills, which there are no shortage of in New England.  Connecticut is home to hundreds of old mills from the 1800s, many related to the fabric and clothing industry and were a boon to the local economy in the 19th and 20th century.  Now, many of these buildings have been re-imagined into new, adaptive uses, including the Sanseer Mill built in 1845 - once the nation's largest manufacturer of suspenders and now a space for professional and medical offices.

This piece is layered with vintage photos, local postcards, and many other pieces of locally relevant vintage ephemera, that lend to the history of this mill.  This is the one-of-a kind original, not a reproduction.
