So many tobacco barns, a vital part of the agricultural past of northern CT and central MA, have been disappearing or fallen under grave disrepair. However there is a renewed interest in preserving these relics and I witnessed a great resurgence in repairing these tobacco barns. This piece show this before and after and incorporates my photography with layers of acrylic paints and ephemera (including a local, vintage postcard, vintage tobacco ad, vintage seed catalog and ledgers). A contemporary piece of original art with a vintage twist.
