Hanging the Wash, 6" x 6"

Regular price

From the Clothesline Set in my Life in the 30s series, this piece provides a slightly whimsical take on an otherwise ordinary task during a difficult decade.  The imagery of a clothesline and hanging the wash evokes a sense of nostalgia for many and the way things were done - slowly, methodically, simply.  Acrylic paints and vintage documents are layered above and below a vintage image from the 30s to lend an aesthetic yet historical perspective to this piece of original art.
