Good Bones, 16" x 20"

Regular price

I'm so drawn to the history and architecture of old factories and mills, which there are no shortage of in the Northeast.  Connecticut is home to hundreds of old mills from the 1800s and 1900s and this building is part of a row of abandoned mills in Hartford CT.  Of all the buildings, I kept coming back to this one, for its architectural details and good bones, despite the broken windows and abandoned appearance.

This mixed media painting is layered with my photography of the building, vintage documents, acrylic paints and oil pastels to create a unique, vintage inspired piece of industrial art.  This is the one-of-a kind original, not a reproduction.
