Svea Grain & Coal, 18" x 24"

Regular price

I am drawn to old, abandoned buildings, of which there are no shortage of in Connecticut where old industrial factories and mills abound.  This image is from the Svea Grain & Coal Co. in New Britain, CT which has long been abandoned but stands out as a white factory compared to the sea of brick mills in the area.  My mixed media pieces are an alchemy of paints, papers, pastels, pencils, inks, stains and vintage ephemera to enhance the photographic images I have captured.

This piece was exhibited at the Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT as part of their Nor'Easter Exhibit and was one of 70 pieces chosen from 1,000+ submissions.
